What are the requirements to be a pediatric dental istant?

There really are not any requirements. Some offices will do on the job training and then after you are working then you can go get your xray certifiation. However It is best to go to school to be a dental istant because eventhouh its not required it looks better when looking for a job and it will be alot easier on yourself if you know kind of what your doing. I am a dental istant and the school I went to was only like 7 months and you dont have to have any basics or anything, some of them are longer and some are shorter. You dont have to do anything different to be a pediatric istant, you will learn all of it in school. I love dental isting but I dont like working with children. Not because I dont like them, its the complete oppisite, I LOVE children and I hate seeing them in pain and terrified, it kills me!! I work in a general office where we do see children on occasion.
