What is the title of this movie?

Sorry about my bad English, but I'm strongly interested in buying a movie, no matter if in DVD or in Video Cette. The synopsis as I remember is about an American professor of a College or University that is married and has a daughter. Suddenly, he receives a notice from France that a woman he had an affair with her once while he was in that country in a scientific event has ped away and a son that resulted from that relationship must be under his custody. The boy comes to USA and from that point the drama is developed in the film.
