Can a international student after graduation stay and work in the United States?

For example, if a international student graduated from a bible school institute but does not have an ociate degree. It is just a vocational school and the student graduates can he/she work in a church? If so what would their visa be? would it expire after graduation? What happens to their visa after marriage to someone who also is an international student?
