Can my old Geforce graphics card deal with a new HD widescreen monitor?

My computer is a bit on the old side but is still chugging along nicely. I was thinking of getting a new widescreen monitor, though, and I'm not sure if my graphics card can handle it. I have a nvidia Geforce4 mx 440... does anyone know enough about graphics cards to help me out?
