In michigan, can i sue someone several times in small claims court over the same incident?

an uninsured motorist hit and caused about $16,000.00 in damages to insured and uninsured property of mine. michigan secretary of state requires a judgment to be awarded in my favor, that the defendant cant or wont pay, before proceeding w/ uninsured motorist claim. also small claim court limit is $3,000.00. can i sue over several parts of my claim? eg, auto damage, trailer damage, property clean up etc.
