Moving to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale area in about 3 months with my roommate?

we both are college students and have our cl D security license we both are experienced in the security field. i am just seeking advice on apartment prices down there and if there is a possible chance of making down there in this economy? thank you any advice will help.
