Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn: Loading clear data?

What's wrong with the game? When I try to upload the Path of Radiance clear data to start a new file, the Wii suddenly freezes and starts making a weird noise. The Wii doesn't react in any way, I always have to unplug it. What's happening?
