WHy is there so much outrage about the Crusades and the Inquisition?

Because it's easier to hate someone for something neither of you have any control over then try to actually get to know a person. It's easier to point out the bad in their past then to think of the good of the present. It's easier to say, "Because this was done in your name, so I hate you and all you stand for" then to go beyond that and find out what they really stand for.
